No Weights – Use Household Items

If you are working out and you find that you need a bit more resistance then weights can be a big help in your workout routine. Unfortunately not everyone has the means needed in order to have weights for their routines. If you are one of those then you need not worry there are plenty of things around your home that you can use as weights.

No Weights – Use Household Items
Canned goods make great hand weights. Just make certain that you choose two that are the same so that you do not end up with uneven toning. You can always switch hands if needed. Another great item is a half gallon or gallon jug. You can fill them with water in order to create different weights. Doing this can give you great resistance without spending any money.

Growing up I used to watch my mom do aerobics with cans of corn, I thought it was funny but now I understand why she was doing it. Keeping a budget with five kids on a single mom’s salary will help to make anyone learn how to improvise.

If you need ankle resistance than bungee cords can help you out. Make certain that you do not do anything that will cause more damage than it is worth. Paying for an ER visit because you dropped a can of tomatoes on your foot is not the best way to save money. Be inventive but stay safe. Ask your doctor if you are unsure about a certain activity.
