Internet Marketing And The Congress

Internet marketing has come across to grab the congress’s attention through charging their customers for products that they did not order. Various companies have been found to have aggressive and unethical sales strategies to their customers and are charging them with charges that the customers did not bring on. Congress has picked three to four different internet marketing businesses to focus on.

Internet marketing companies are having their websites pop up while the user is serving the internet on certain websites where the user clicks on the offer and brings them to another page where it records their credit card and personal information. After taking this information it then proceeds to bill the card for other charges that the user did not authorize. This is said to mislead the customers into providing sensitive personal information for something that is not really the offer they think it is.

Changes are to be made by the internet marketing businesses such as having the customer provide the last four digits of their credit card number to authorize payments. A lot of internet sites have already began changing their check outs while other internet marketing businesses are more stubborn and feel that their marketing strategies are not unfair or unethical and they should not have to change any of their check out proceedings.

These internet companies may be faced with theft charges because of the charges they are putting on customer’s credit cards for products and services that were not authorized by the card holder.
